Mr. and Mrs. David Carpenter presenting the West Virginia CCC Museum Association with a check for $1,000.00 to be used toward the museum's building fund.

During  their most recent visit to the West Virginia CCC camp museum, Mr. and Mrs. David Carpenter presented the CCC Museum Association with a check for $1,000.00 to be used toward the museum's building fund.

Mrs. Carpenter's father, Oren Zirkle was a CCC enrollee at Camp Harrison, and the generous donation was made in Mr. Zirkle's memory.  Dr. Francis Gilmore, CCC Association board member in accepting the gift for the Association, thanked the Carpenters and added," Their generous gift is an important contribution, and Mr. Zirkle will be remembered for the good work he did for his country while in the 3Cs and afterwards".

Several moments were spent at the presentation in recollection of the late Mr. Zirkle's achievements in the CCC and in his support of the CCC Association and the CCC camp museum.

Pictured from left to right are Dave and Betty Carpenter and Francis Gilmore.  All are from Clarksburg, WV. We heartily thank the Carpenters and know their gift will help build the needed new museum.

Many more such tax-exemptable donations are needed. If you have a CCC loved one in your family, please honor him/her with a donation to the new West Virginia  replica barracks museum building fund in his/her memory.  It is a great way to say thank you to them and help us keep the CCC legacy alive.  For more information, please visit us via e-mail or please get in touch after reviewing our membership page on the web.
